Rochester, NY- The QARAB Singers will perform “Our Good Shepherd,” a multi-media choral presentation, in the 2015 First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival (September 17-26) at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 22nd, in the Lyric Theater (440 East Avenue).   Advance tickets (Adults $10, Seniors and Students $5, Children 12 and under Free) and additional information are both available online at www.rochesterfringe.com.  Remaining tickets may be purchased at the door one hour before curtain.

“Our Good Shepherd” is an excerpt from the ‘Pop’ Opera, GOOD SHEPHERDS, one of six Phases of the award-winning series of musical morality tales called A SIMPLE ODE.  This “Must-See” production features a beautiful score by composers E. A. Messenger and Jim Schmitt, performed by a talented cast of singers, with illustrations by famed Rochester artist, R. J. Ketchum. This family-friendly musical, telling of the story of Jesus, will inspire and entertain audiences of all ages.  The first two hundred adults will receive a FREE Commemorative copy of the companion book “Our Good Shepherd.”

“Qarab” is simply defined as “offering; approach, bring near,” thus the Qarab Artistic Group (QARAB.com) was born.  Its debut work, THE ARK, was presented at the Little Theatre in 2008, followed by a performance of THE FOUR HORSEMEN in the Hart Theatre at the JCC (Jewish Community Center) in 2011.  Since then, QARAB.com has won numerous awards, including a 2012 Ava Platinum Award for Original Music, and a 2013 Creativity Award for “Garden Tools,” a collection featuring the ‘Pop’ Opera “THE GARDEN,” its companion book, and educational lesson planner.

QARAB.com is proud to be debuting “Our Good Shepherd” at the newly opened Lyric Theater, formerly the First Church of Christ, Scientist, a historic venue whose dome inspired the ceiling at the Eastman Theatre.  With the Lyric Theater’s unique and beautiful architecture, and its wonderful acoustics, “Our Good Shepherd” will be an experience to remember.
