Ark News Release




stage reading of The Ark , a contemporary musical featuring live music, plus a big screen story board, will be shown in an encore performance at the Little Theatre #1 -- 240 East Avenue, Rochester, NY, on Monday, June 9,2008.

The event, which encourages audience participation, is free and open to the public. Show time will be 7:00 PM.


The Ark is directed by local musician and composer Jim Schmitt, who, with wife Deborah, has performed in upstate New York theatre for more than 35 years.

"It's a very descriptive musical," Schmitt says. "I expect it to be very enjoyable for all who attend."

Words and music for The Ark were created by E.A. Messenger.

Bringing life to the big screen, with wonderful water colors, is local award-winning artist R. J. Ketchum. A 1951 Rochester Institute of Technology graduate, Ketchum headed one of the largest commercial art studios in upstate New York, R. J. Ketchum Associates of Prince Street, Rochester.
